Windows
- Right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All.
- Open the extracted TTF or OTF and choose Install.
- Restart your design app. Search its font menu for the family name in the download’s README.
macOS
- Double-click the ZIP to extract it.
- Open the TTF or OTF in Font Book and choose Install.
- Restart your design app and choose the font family.
These are general installation instructions. Check a font’s release notes for its tested environments. Object Latin’s macOS and native editing-app review is still pending.
02 / COMMON QUESTIONS
A few things to check.
The font does not appear in my app.
Extract the ZIP before installing. For Object Latin, look for JFFF Object Latin, style Regular. Close and reopen the app after installation. Browser-based design tools may require their own font-upload feature; installing a font locally does not automatically add it to every online editor.
I see an old version or a duplicate font.
Save your work and close apps using the font. Remove only the older installation of that font family, then install the current TTF. Avoid installing both its TTF and OTF at once. Reopen your app and check the font version.
Some characters look different or show up as boxes.
The font may not include those characters, so the app substitutes another font or displays a missing-character box. Check the character set on the font page. Object Latin includes 329 encoded characters; it does not include Hangul, Cyrillic or Greek alphabets.
Where are Bold and Italic?
Object Latin currently includes one Regular style. A Bold or Italic button may synthesize a different appearance rather than select a designed style. Use Regular to preserve the intended outlines.
Ligatures or the ornamental O do not appear.
OpenType support and controls vary by app. Enable standard ligatures for ff, fi, fl, ffi and ffl. Object Latin’s ornamental O is in stylistic set 1 (ss01); tabular figures use tnum. Kerning should be enabled. Some editors do not expose every feature.
Fine strokes look weak at small sizes.
Object Latin is a display design intended for headlines around 48–120 pt in print. Fine strokes and close spacing can lose clarity in small text or on low-contrast backgrounds. Use a body font for paragraphs and check the final size on your actual screen or printout.
Can I use the font for a client project?
Yes. Personal and commercial use are free under the SIL Open Font License. Fonts remain available without a login. See the license summary for modification, embedding and redistribution terms.
03 / WEB USE
Keep your web type light.
When WOFF2 is included, host it with your website and use the supplied stylesheet. Object Latin includes a Web folder with both files. Keep their relative paths together and include the OFL and copyright notice when distributing the font.
Use a fallback font, show text while the font loads and request only the weight you have. The included Object Latin stylesheet uses font-display: swap. Test your final page at mobile and desktop sizes.
